Grant Programs
The Foundation makes grants to public charities that pre-dominantly benefit small communities in rural Oregon and Siskiyou County, California. Our mission of "successful citizens and vital rural communities" can be achieved in part by directing grant resources to projects and programs which align with our grant guidelines. We respond to grant requests initiated by a non-profit organization through our online application, and we occasionally use a Request for Proposal (RFP) to target grants for programs and projects that best support the Foundation’s goals.

Grantee Story
 Early Childhood Development
 
The Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative (OPEC) is a multi-year project that started in 2010. OPEC is led by the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF), The Ford Family Foundation, and Oregon State University (OSU) with additional financial support from Meyer Memorial Trust, The Collins Foundation, and OCF Donor Advised Funds.
The project is based on the fundamental principle that parents and families are children’s first and most important teachers and has two main goals. The first is to expand access to evidence-based parenting education programs, with a focus on parents of children prenatal to age six. Hallie Ford Fellowship Application for 2013 opens Feb. 1!
