Ford Family Foundation Video Conferencing

In order to communicate effectively with remote entities, we have multiple solutions for video conferencing.  Please contact The Ford Family Foundation to receive guidance on which solution will work best for all.

We use Skype for informal one on one meetings.  Please contact The Ford Family Foundation to arrange for us to swap Skype names.  Below you will find ours.

We use Webex when the purpose of the meeting is to view/colloborate on documents such as power points.  Below you will find the main portal to access our Webex meetings.  You will need to click Join and enter your Name, Email Address, and meeting password (which you should have received by email.  If not call our main number at 541-957-5574 and a staff person will assist in getting this to you).  You might be required to install the Webex plugin.  Follow the directions and install all the components it asks of you, it is safe.

We use our Radvision H.323 compatible system for high quality video conferencing with multisite capability, either between video conference units (compatible with units such as Tandberg and Polycom), or with desktops with the Scopia desktop client installed (see below).  This system allows for best quality video conferencing, especially when engaging multiple Foundation staff in one room.   See below for the instructions to utilize.  You will need to have a PIN password in order to connect.  If this was not emailed to you, please call the Foundation main number of 541-957-5574 and a staff person will assist.

Connection from desktop/laptop
You will need to install the Scopia Desktop client.  Use the link below to install.  You will be first asked to Download and then you will be presented a Install button.  You do not need to install any of the additional components, just the main client which is check marked by default on the Install page.

Once you have succesfully installed the client, you can use the link below to connect to the webpage that will allow you test your equipment.

Click on the Check Audio link and then Start Audio test to verify your microphone and speaker is working.  You should hear your voice coming back to you through your speakers (don't worry if you hear feedback on this test).  If you dont, use device drop down menus to choose the appropriate record\microphone and playback\speaker device.

Once you have tested your device, you can now enter into the virtual room by entering your name and the Meeting ID of 602070 and click on Participate Now (or click the link below which will connect you directly and ask for your PIN).  If everything works well, you should be informed you are being connected into the virtual meeting room.  If it is near the scheduled time of your meeting, shortly you should see us connect as well.  If you have any difficulty, please call our main number at 541-957-5574 and you will be connected to appropriate technical staff.
