Oregon Ford Sons & Daughters Description

The Scholarship Program for Sons and Daughters of Employees of Roseburg Forest Products Co. serves dependents (21 years of age or younger) of employees of Roseburg Forest Products Co.

This program provides scholarships to dependents of Roseburg Forest products employees planning to attend an accredited college or vocational school in the United States. The number of recipients varies each year. The award can be renewed annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Program and Scholarship Details
Scholarship amounts are awarded for both merit and financial need. An award amount is $2,500 for those attending two-year colleges. At four-year colleges, an award is $3,500 or $5,000 depending on need. "Financial need" is demonstrated by the recipient's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and college costs. The scholarship program is for students who, as of March 1 of the application year, are 21 years of age or younger and are legal dependents of employees of Roseburg Forest Products Co. Applicants must be natural or adopted children or stepchildren of the employee.

For an applicant to be eligible, the qualifying parent must have been employed continuously by Roseburg Forest Products Co. for a minimum of eighteen (18) months prior to the March 1 application deadline.

Students with existing bachelor's degrees are not eligible for Ford Family Scholarships.

Tips for completing Ford Family
Scholarship Oregon applications
  • Application available online at www.getcollegefunds.org.

  • Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form before March 1 to be certain it is available for review.

  • Create the required Activities Chart. The online application makes it easy. Treat it like a job resume - it has a similar purpose! Selection committees want to see what you've done and how you've already begun making your mark in the world. Download the Activities Chart.

  • Type or print neatly all submitted materials. Use white paper and ink dark enough for photocopying.

    Transcript Tips

  • Mail the transcript with your online application number, or attach it to the application form. Do not rely on the school to send it.

  • Photocopies are accepted. If you have a transcript in an "official" sealed envelope, remove it and send it without the envelope.

  • High school students: Submit your "seventh-semester" transcript (not available before January), which shows all the academic work you've done through the first semester of your senior year. Application packages containing only "sixth-semester" transcripts will NOT be considered.

  • College students: Send copies of transcripts for each college where coursework was completed during the last 10 years.
Failure to provide transcripts invalidates your application, with no exceptions. Do not send grade reports or summaries.
