Scholarships

The Ford Family Foundation Scholarship Programs offer a suite of college financial and program resources in Oregon, and Siskiyou County, California. Many recipients enthusiastically declare that the Scholarship Programs are “about so much more than the money.” We think our interview teams select participants whose past and potential are worthy of special support and development. The Foundation hopes to develop a long term relationship with such students - not simply bestow a scholarship.

We actively look for applicants of all ages with some special circumstances. They may not have had the encouragement, opportunity or the financial means to attend or complete higher education. These candidates demonstrate their understanding of the values of work, taking responsibility, giving back and helping others. Given the chance, they can succeed in college and beyond.

As the mission of The Ford Family Foundation states in part, we strive "... to help individuals through organized learning opportunities to be contributing and successful citizens." Through conferences, academic counseling and advising, and related support, most of our recipients graduate on time with reduced debt. They share a special bond to each other and appreciate the Foundation's mission and values.

We are optimistic that the alumni of our Scholarship Programs will help fulfull the second element of our mission, "... to enhance the vitality of rural communities," or the various communitites of which they become a part after graduating.

If you or someone you know is such a person, read more about our scholarship programs and visit the recommended websites. It could be the beginning of a great relationship.
