Building capacity through alignments

Rural residents recognize, own, and act on the power they have to shape their communities future.
Technical Assistance Grants are provided to help organizations or communities develop leadership expertise, engage in planning efforts, or advance collaborations. This concept is the core of "capacity building." These grants are available by online request and can help fund the hiring of an outside consultant with specialized expertise. Ideally, the consultant will function as a facilitator, mentor and/or teacher so that leadership, planning and collaboration skills are left behind with community members once the consultant engagement is complete. These grants cannot be used to pay staff or board salary to conduct the work of a consultant.
