Jennifer Lindsey

Director of Communications

Policy and Public Affairs
Eugene

“I’ve worked in all areas of the world in all kinds of settings, but it’s the rural areas where I really get the sense of community and the strength that comes from people supporting each other.”

Jennifer Lindsey tells stories for a living. As the Foundation’s director of communications, she is responsible for developing and implementing a robust and multi-faceted strategic communications program. Storytelling is an integral part of the strategy.

“We aren’t selling products,” she says. “We’re talking about impact. And the way we do that is by meeting the people in the communities and hearing and amplifying their stories.”

Jennifer has built her career on helping nonprofit and service-oriented organizations communicate effectively. She’s worked for organizations around the globe, including Habitat for Humanity International, the Jane Goodall Institute, and, most recently, the CARE-WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Alliance. She also served as assistant vice president and chief of staff in the communications division of the University of Oregon.

She has a master’s degree in international service from American University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communications from Kansas State University.

Although she grew up mostly in Kansas, Jennifer considers Eugene her second home, where she lives with her husband, son and two dogs. She enjoys hiking and biking or just sitting in the yard and taking in the trees and birds. On nice afternoons, you might even find her paddleboarding on the river near the Foundation office.
