Jennifer Lindsey brings a wealth of strategic communications experience to serve rural Oregon and Siskiyou County, Calif.
ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Ford Family Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Lindsey as its first-ever communications director. In this role, Lindsey is responsible for all internal and external communication efforts.
Lindsey brings nearly 30 years of experience to the Foundation, with a proven track record of helping nonprofit and service-oriented organizations communicate effectively. Before joining the Foundation, she served as senior director of communications for the CARE-WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Alliance. She has also served in the communications division of the University of Oregon as assistant vice president and chief of staff.
Internationally, she has worked on a senior level for several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity International, U.S. Agency for International Development, and Catholic Relief Services. Lindsey also volunteers as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster youth in Lane County and served for many years on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Central Lane.
“Jennifer is a community builder and cross-cultural communicator – key skills we need to advance our mission for rural kids,” says Kara Inae Carlisle, president and CEO of the Foundation. “She is deeply service oriented and is already building connections with frontier communities, our Scholars and grantees.”
In this role, Lindsey will build a Foundation-wide communications strategy, ensuring that all communications activities align with the Foundation’s mission and values and support even deeper engagement with communities across Oregon and Siskiyou County. She will work out of the Foundation’s Eugene office, on the Policy & Public Affairs team.
Lindsey holds a master’s degree in International Service from American University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas State University.
