Very handy information divided out by county. It will be very useful in applying for grants and writing impact reports. Everything you need in one handy place. I learned new information about my own county, as well as comparing to other counties. And appreciate the extended definitions of metrics in the back. I really enjoyed, the 10 Things to Do With Oregon By the Numbers, section at the beginning to help you get the most out of the document.

OREGON BY THE NUMBERS: Key Measures for Oregon and it's counties is an excellent, single resource for those writing grants, seeking factual information about Oregon counties or the state as a whole. The 2018 edition uses data from 2016-2017, the most up-to-date information available for accurate reporting in 2019. The capacity of the resource to differentiate rural/urban for Oregon, to compare that measure county by county and taking time, in the front of the book, page 9, to explain the definition is a benefit to all. Further suggestions on page 10 of how the data in this book might be used are also helpful. Expert and novice alike will gain much by becoming familiar with the information in Oregon By the Numbers. I highly recommend this resource for anyone interested in understanding more about Oregon's complex state issues. The book is an essential resource for those writing grants and involved in systems or organizations which seek to support improvement for Oregon regardless of target or service. Thank you, Ford Foundation, for sharing Oregon by the Numbers at no cost to those requesting the resource. Sincerely, Candace Artemenko

I was so pleased to receive this book. The data is so complete and comprehensive. In some cases I was sad to see the numbers, i.e. the number of child abuse cases. The county statistics are fascinating. Again, children in poverty is strikingly high and in many counties on the rise. I would hope that every governing body in each county and city with in that county, has a copy of this report. I would hope that they utilize the report to plan and target areas that need improvement and find ways to work with local businesses and non profits to address these issues. Thank you for this valuable report.

This book captures in one place a great diversity of information from many sources. It provides a basis for understanding communities, useful to government, non-profits and for-profits. I applaud TFFF for gathering the data from the OSU hosted Oregon Explorer website and making it so functional and attractive. This publication should be on the desk of every elected and appointed official.

This compilation of data and information is extremely helpful as we work in Coos and Curry Counties to address housing and homeless issues. The information is understandable and easy to access, answering questions I did not know to ask. Thank you.

I like the way the book is laid out. But I think the stats are questionable.

This book is really helpful in gaining a bird’s eye view of each county. As a social worker it helps to see what resources may be needed for community members as well as areas of strength in different regions. Very Useful!
