“Our work with scholars matters. When I walked across the stage to graduate, it opened so many doors that otherwise would not have been open.”

Zane Stevens is a troubleshooter, working with scholarship recipients and college financial aid administrators to make sure the Foundation’s scholarship programs do their jobs—opening doors to learning. As part of his role, Zane tracks the local and national financial aid landscape and anticipates changes or problems that might affect Scholars.

“I like being a go-between for students and making sure financial aid runs smoothly,” Zane explains. He says he is inspired by Scholars’ journeys to education, their aspirations and how the Foundation’s scholarship programs can help.

Prior to joining the Foundation in 2022, Zane worked in the financial aid world for seven years at Lane Community College and Oregon Coast Community College. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is married to a Ford Scholar, Class of 2007.
